About

Preschool Classes

2 Year Olds

Our Toddlers/2’s class focuses on learning through exploration, hands-on experiences, finger play, singing, movement, and free play. In a safe and nurturing environment, children engage in short guided circle time, where they learn about the alphabet, numbers, colors, and shapes. Daily Bible lessons are also an essential part of their learning journey. Additionally, the 2s have their own art and music classes, as well as chapel sessions.

3 Year Olds

Our preschool classroom utilizes a modified version of the Learning Without Tears curriculum. Children participate in daily circle time, reinforcing their alphabet, letters and sounds, numbers, colors, shapes, days of the week, months of the year, and reading skills. Bible lessons and the study of My First Catechism, designed for their age group, are incorporated into their daily routine. The children enjoy dedicated art and music classes, as well as regular chapel sessions.

Pre-Kindergarten

Our pre-kindergarten class follows the Learning Without Tears curriculum, approved by the Texas State Board of Education. Key subjects such as language and literacy, reading and writing, numbers and math, physical development, social and emotional learning, science, and social studies are emphasized. Children explore classic and modern literature, history (integrated with Bible lessons), and religion. Art, music, and chapel sessions continue to enrich their learning experience.

Art

Using a guided curriculum, children learn about classical art through viewing and reading, gaining an appreciation for its beauty and significance. Different mediums and techniques are introduced, allowing children to create their own art projects each week.

Chapel

We are deeply committed to passing on the great and timeless truths of the Christian faith. Our preschoolers engage in daily Bible lessons, catechesis, prayer, and instruction. Chapel sessions take place every Tuesday and Wednesday morning in the church sanctuary. Led by Pastor Thomas Chryst and our vicar, Patrick Randolph, these sessions provide a space for worship, participation, and behavioral learning within a church setting.

Music

Each preschool classroom attends a dedicated Music class taught by Mr. Miguel Ruiz, a music educator from Messiah Lutheran Church. Through singing, movement, melody instruments, and exposure to various musical styles, children develop a love for music and learn about the Word of God. They also participate in special performances throughout the school year.

What Makes Us Different

Preschool with A Christian Worldview

At Messiah Lutheran Classical Academy Preschool, we are more than just an educational institution—we are a community rooted in timeless truths. As a part of Messiah Lutheran Classical Academy and a ministry of Messiah Lutheran Church, we offer a solid foundation built on God’s Word, providing your child with a distinctly Christian worldview.

Nurturing Environment

Our mission is to ensure every child feels cherished, safe, and loved, creating a warm, nurturing, family environment. God’s love for us, displayed in Christ, is at the heart of all we do, and guides how we relate to and treat each other and our students.

Preparing For Future Educational Success

Our age-appropriate curriculum is designed to prepare your child for kindergarten and beyond. Each classroom builds upon the previous one, equipping your child with the necessary skills and knowledge for their next educational stage. In addition, students are introduced to music and classical art, fostering creativity and an appreciation for beauty. Our church and school are part of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, which has a long history of educating and enriching children.  In fact, the LCMS operates more schools than any other church body in America.

Small Class Sizes

We believe in the value of individual attention, which is why we maintain a low student-to-teacher ratio. Your child will not be just another number but will receive personalized care and support so that they thrive academically, socially, and spiritually.

Children's Performances

All preschool students have the opportunity to showcase their musical talents and hymn knowledge during special performances during the school year. These events allow parents and families to enjoy their child’s progress and growth.

Special Memories

At MLCA, we are one big family. We organize events that bring together preschoolers with students from upper grades. One such event is the “Spirit Squad” during our school’s homecoming, where preschool and pre-kindergarten students join MLCA students through grade 3 to cheer on and support the older students. It’s a fun time for everyone involved!
