At Messiah Lutheran Classical Academy, every student is
welcomed into one of our four school houses—Flamma,
Volumen, Lyricus, or Anchora. Our
house system is designed to build a strong school community by encouraging
mentorship, service, leadership, and friendly competition across all grade
levels. Throughout the year, students earn points for demonstrating Christian
character, academic effort, teamwork, and school spirit while participating in
house activities and service opportunities. More than just a competition, our
house system helps students develop lasting relationships, celebrate one
another’s gifts, and grow together as a school family.
Chess Club Messiah’s Chess Club meets weekly for most of the school year and begins with Kindergarten. Students learn the rules of the game, strategy and tactics, and participate in both in-house and off-campus tournaments. Chess is a great compliment to classical education as it teaches thinking skills, patience, and self-control. It also teaches etiquette, sportsmanship, and the importance of practice and hard work. Most of our students also really enjoy it, and play at other times during the day. Our club is led by experienced chess players, including Pastor Chryst, who has ranked in the top 5% of Texas tournament players and has been playing and coaching chess for over 30 years.
Nurturing A Solid Foundation At Messiah Lutheran Classical Academy (MLCA), we believe in fostering a love for Christ in all our students, no matter their age or background. Our goal is to equip our students to serve in their various vocations and make a positive impact in their communities.
Daily Chapel To cultivate this foundation in faith, we hold daily chapel services that bring together our students of all ages. During these services, we share stories from the Bible and reflect on how these lessons apply to our daily lives. This daily practice not only strengthens our students’ relationship with Christ, but also helps to build a sense of community and fellowship among our student body.
